This piece is part of the collection ‘Intricate Grooves’ and all the artworks were inspired by the beautiful patterns seen on my daily walks with my dog Indy. I am fascinated with fungi and tree bark and the unlimited variations that present to me as I take in the beautiful nature.
I like to create the entirely unique patterns within my paintings in a similar way, with the direction of each carving decided in the moment, influenced by my feelings, the preceding carving and, where there is colour, the patterns within the painting.
